Sundowner is a Berlin-based DJ mix & interview blog, run by two friends with too many records and not enough shelves. Since 2019 we've been recording one mix a month with artists we admire — casual, long-form, and always paired with a real conversation.
The premise
One mix. One conversation. Once a month.
No sponsors, no algorithm, no 30-second TikTok edits. We pick artists whose sets we'd travel for, and we ask them to record an hour of whatever they feel like playing — then we spend an afternoon talking about it.
The interviews are light on press-cycle questions and heavy on the small stuff: which record shop, which monitor, which argument.
Who we are
Two editors, one intern, a cat named Mixer.
Founded by L. Mawila & K. Varga in a kitchen in Neukölln. We trade off mixing duties, interview prep, and chasing stems through email threads.
